Are you DVS compliant?

The Direct Vision Standard has been designed to make the streets of London safer for pedestrians and cyclists.

Originally due to launch in Oct 2020 this was postponed giving transport operators more time to meet the new standards as they face intense demands from the coronavirus pandemic.

Why DVS?

Enforcement of The Standard came into effect in March 2021 and affects ALL 12 tonne and above vehicles that enter London, with a £550 per day fine for non-compliance. It is something that companies have to take very seriously.

How Non-Connected Systems Let You Down

Lost footage

DVR systems may need to be manually reset or formatted which is extremely time consuming and could result in loss of footage.

Slow to action

Accessing the footage can be slow particularly with incidents when the police are involved, or the vehicle has been damaged. If the vehicle is taken away or impounded sending someone to retrieve the footage can be difficult.

Increased fees

Delays in accessing the evidence to determine the cause of the incident can incur unnecessary or excessive costs e.g. legal fees, loss of earnings through vehicle downtime, hire vehicles, insurance pay-outs or increased premiums.

Failed Recording

Recording failure or camera obstruction not discovered until it’s too late. Unless you manually check each camera regularly there is no way of knowing if its recording. This is typically the No.1 headache for fleet owners. If a camera misses an incident all its value is lost resulting in non-fault claims ending up as 50/50 or own-fault due to lack of evidence. This can have a massive impact on the total cost of an incident to your business.

Best in class hardware

We use the highest quality and lowest failure rate hardware available to minimise the risk of recording loss. Self-healing DVR’s and top of the range self-formatting SD cards.

Indicator reporting
